Mega Metallic Eurorack Percussion (& beyond!!) // Entity Metalloid from Steady State Fate

"Here we have the newest Eurorack module in the Entity range from Steady State Fate … METALLOID PERCUSSION. This is a simple set of controls for what is under the hood and much more complex circuit for synthesising metallic and noise based percussion. There’s 3 analogue oscillators which get ring modulated alongside having an FM bus for the most metally (move over Metallica) of metal noise sounds! This metallic noise synthesis is then split into two voices with multimode filters, VCAs and envelopes to control and create a huge range of percussion sounds. The trigger inputs are also dynamic, offering a velocity style (loud to quiet) dynamic and musical response to varying input material.
In the video I get snares, claps, rides, crashes, hi hats, gongs, video game coin collection sounds, Star Wars pod racers and plenty more! It’s not a clone of anything, nor is it meant to make one sound. But it’s easily bendable and shapeable to take the place of many classic percussion sounds. "Blush Response is the vehicle for Cuban/American musician Joey Blush's research into the sonic dimension. Reports occur at sporadic intervals, usually in concurrence with the discovery of new planes of existence. Born in Miami, and now stationed in Berlin, Blush has brought his sound experiments to a worldwide audience. He has toured around the world as a solo artist, and as a member of groups such as Scar the Martyr and Front Line Assembly.
He is also a renowned sound designer, having done work for companies like Elektron, Yamaha, Arturia, and programming on records from Fear Factory, Cristian Castro, and many more. Blush expresses his sound through deep meditation with his electronic instruments, focusing on the interaction between human and machine. He seeks to both influence and harness the unpredictability of complex electronic instrumentation, in an effort to create a direct expression of his emotions. This sonic ritualism is exemplified in his prolific reporting of fractalized audio sculpture.

The ASTROGENIC HALLUCINAUTING set was leaning into what I like to call Tek-Noiz.
Not my usual sonic landscape of black ambient drone and noiz.

"Merlin Ettore and Blush Response’s collaboration sprung out of a desire to find new methods of expression in live electronics. This Yamaha session is a 100% improvised performance that bridges the gap between heavy club music, sound design, experimental noise, and mind bending poly-metric drumming.
Blush is running custom granular FM patches on the Yamaha MODX7. Other sounds are provided by a 4 voice eurorack modular. Merlin is using the Yamaha EAD10 Drum Module as a source to parallel process the direct sound of his Recording Custom."

"This is my attempt to recreate this incredible Vangelis track from the original 'Blade Runner' movie. Everything is played in real time, no overdubs or pre recorded tracks.
I used Roland System 500 modular for atmospheric FX, System-8 for the main lead and arpeggio, SE-02 for the bass track and TR-08 for the drums.
Audio recorded via integrated USB out from each instrument.
Original dialogues taken from the movie and added later.
Mixed and mastered through Ableton Live suite."

"Earlier this month, industrial techno artist Blush Response dropped by the KOMA Elektronik studio combining his live eurorack rig with our Komplex sequencer and other gear. Joey Blush has been on the modular scene for a while now working on everything from sound design to industrial/ebm to techno. His last 12" just came out on aufnahme + wiedergabe moving towards an even more dance-oriented sound but still never leaving behind his ability for immense atmosphere and dark melodies.
